Stream Deck F.A.Q.

Written for Stream Deck Plugin: v3.0

Taede from discord has been kind enough to write up a frequently asked questions section for the Stream Deck Plugin;
Thank you Taede - MS2 staff.

  1. The Stream deck app does not show the Mod Studio 2 buttons after I've installed the Stream Deck Plugin as mentioned in step 3 of the installation guide

    A. Sometimes the app needs to be restarted after installation before the buttons are available to assign to a profile. Alternatively, you can reboot your PC after step 3.

  2. My Stream Deck shows and updates the icons but pressing buttons doesn't do anything or doesn't match the button action set

    A. The keys in the game should match the key set in the Stream Deck app. Changing one does not change the other automatically.

    A. Only use the normal letter/number keys, avoid special keys like pgup (Page Up) / pgdown (Page Down) etc. Avoid using keys that are not marked green in the below image.

    A. Use lowercase letters for preference. Upper case does not always work properly, this is under investigation (details).

  3. Stream Deck buttons work, but the icons do not update

    A. Go to "Documents \ Euro Truck Simulator 2 \ game.log.txt" and open it in Notepad. It should contain a line something like:

    "00:00:04.434 : loading 'scs-telemetry' 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Euro Truck Simulator 2/bin/win_x64/plugins/scs-telemetry.dll' "

    You can use ctrl+f to search for "dll" which will help you find the line quicker.

    If no such line is present, the plugin is not loading. Make sure the plugin is installed exactly as mentioned in step 2 of installation (see install guide).

    A. Other plugins (trucky, simdashub, truckbooks client and similar) may interfere.
    Try our plugin by itself. If our plugin works; one of the mentioned (or similar) maybe interfering. you can use process of elimination by removing other plugins to see which one is causing a conflict.

    Please report this conflict issue as a bug via github so we can investigate it further.

    Thank you kindly.
